Eurasia Forum (Forum Eurasien) was established as a non-profit organisation in 2009. It is centred in Stockholm, Sweden.
A competence centre for the vast region between the EU and China
The organisation’s activities have two main aims:
•
Increasing the competence among organisations and the interest among the general public for topical issues in Central
Asía, the Caucasus, Turkey and Eastern Europe east of the EU
•
Conducting projects and contributing specialist competence to cooperation projects in the regions.
To achieve the first aim, Eurasia Forum acts as a focal point and a competence centre for region-specific knowledge in
Scandinavia. The members of the Centre maintain thorough theoretical knowledge as well as experience of work in the regions
and with several of the issues of importance in these countries.
Each individual issue requires its particular set of competences, but an ongoing analysis of the political, economic and societal
conditions of each separate country in the region is at the heart of all activity.

The way we work
Forum Eurasien performs assignments on a consulting basis and conducts projects through cooperation with organisations in
Europe and its network in the respective regions.
Typical results produced during assignments include
•
research and investigation
•
reporting
•
lectures and seminars
•
project management or project expertise in partner-led projects
Any profit is reinvested in development of the organisation’s activities.
Regional network and cooperation
To complement the work of the active members, a key task for the organisation is to maintain and constantly grow a network of
partners and contacts active in the regions. This network includes government representatives, academic institutions as well as
civil society and private sector actors.
Forum Eurasien actively works to establish partnerships, and to connect individuals and organisations within and between the
countries, thereby also creating opportunities for collaboration with organisations in Scandinavia and Europe.
Close cooperation as well as travel within the respective regions are also essential to Forum Eurasien for gaining first-hand
information and for maintaining its position as an authority within its field.
Depending on current project activity, Forum Eurasien is also looking for partners specialising in e g civil society development,
legal councelling, conflict resolution, gender issues, environmental and energy technology and market economy development.
